A scenario could be considered as that which happens in the space between the first and last situations of a film.

Here the first shot, over which we see the titles, is a very long tracking shot starting on Jeanne Moreau, following her from behind, crossing the Promenade des Anglais, which then ascends to a height to allow us to see the space ahead of her, in which the story is about to take place. It’s like the film is taking a deep breath in, ready to launch Moreau’s character on the journey which the film is going subject her to.
